How to Join a TikTok LIVE Agency (2026)

You do not apply to a TikTok LIVE agency the way you apply for a job. Joining is invitation based: the network sends an invitation through TikTok’s own system, and you accept it inside the TikTok app. No password changes hands, no money changes hands, and the whole thing happens on TikTok’s side rather than on the agency’s website.

That one fact clears up most of the confusion creators have about agencies, so it is worth understanding properly before you say yes to anyone. Here is how the process actually works, what TikTok requires, and the two things almost every guide on this subject gets wrong.

The three steps to joining a TikTok LIVE agency

1. You find your invitation code in the TikTok app. Every creator has one. It lives in your LIVE settings, under a screen called Creator Network Center on current builds. Older versions of the app called it the Agency Center. The exact menu path moves around between app versions and regions, so the reliable way to find it is to search your settings for “Creator Network” rather than following a step-by-step path from a blog post that may be a year old.

2. You give that code to the network, and they send the invitation. The network enters your code in TikTok LIVE Backstage, which is the management platform TikTok gives to approved networks. Backstage is the only way a network can do this. An agency that cannot send you an invitation through TikTok does not have Backstage access, which means it is not an approved network.

3. You accept the invitation in the app. It appears in the same Creator Network Center screen. You accept or decline it there. That acceptance is the moment you join. TikTok’s own policy confirms the creator performs this step, and that an invitation can carry a start date: your join date is the later of when you accepted or the date named in the invitation.

Notice what is missing from those three steps. There is no contract you have to sign before TikTok will link you. There is no payment. There is no login handover. If someone is asking you for any of those things before you are linked, something is wrong, and we cover that in our guide on whether TikTok LIVE agencies are legit.

Who is eligible to join a creator network?

TikTok sets the eligibility rules, not the agency. From TikTok’s own Creator Network Management Policy and its Multi-Account Violation Policy, a network is prohibited from inviting you if you:

  • are under 18 (under 19 in Korea)
  • have already joined another creator network
  • do not meet TikTok’s diamond and follower thresholds for network membership
  • are physically located outside the territory covered by that network’s agreement with TikTok
  • are still inside a cooling-down period after leaving a previous network
  • have a banned account or a banned LIVE function

About the “1,000 followers” number

You will see 1,000 followers quoted everywhere as the requirement to go LIVE. TikTok does not publish a single global follower number. The figure appears as 500 in some write-ups and 1,000 in others, and TikTok’s own documentation confirms only that follower and diamond thresholds exist and that TikTok can change them.

The only test that actually tells you anything is whether the LIVE button appears in your own app. If it is there, you can go LIVE. If it is not, no agency can conjure it for you, and any agency promising otherwise is describing something it cannot deliver.

You must also be 18 or older to host a LIVE at all. TikTok states this plainly, and networks are expressly forbidden from encouraging anyone under the minimum age to go LIVE.

The seven day rule is about a different program

This one is worth flagging because it is repeated confidently in a lot of places. You will read that an agency application is valid for seven days and expires if nobody responds.

That rule is real, but it belongs to TikTok Shop, not to TikTok LIVE creator networks. It comes from TikTok Shop’s Creator Agency Partner program, which is about selling products on LIVE, not about gifting and diamonds. TikTok Shop’s own documentation states applications are valid for seven days and can be reapplied for after they expire.

For LIVE gifting networks, TikTok publishes no validity period for an invitation anywhere we could find. If you have an invitation sitting in your app, do not panic about a seven day clock that may not apply to you. Ask the network directly instead.

You can only be in one network at a time

This is not a preference, it is a rule. TikTok’s Multi-Account Violation Policy opens with it: one eligible LIVE creator should use only one TikTok account to join one creator network.

The obvious workaround, using a second account to join a second network, is a named violation with published penalties. TikTok works out who operates an account by looking at who appears most often in its recent LIVEs and videos. Whichever account joined first is treated as your main account; the later one is the side account. TikTok can then remove the side account from the second network, claw back bonuses connected to it, move it to your original network, or require the second network to pay your original network compensation.

Those penalties land on the network as well as on you, and they still apply even if you have already left. A network that suggests this workaround is proposing something that will cost it money, which tells you something about how carefully it reads TikTok’s rules.

Leaving a network, and the cooling-down period

Here is the honest answer, which is more useful than a confident wrong one.

A cooling-down period definitely exists. TikTok’s Multi-Account Violation Policy lists creators who are “still in a cooling-down period after leaving a network” among those a network may not invite. So the concept is TikTok’s own.

TikTok does not publish how long it lasts. You will see 15 days, 30 days and 60 days quoted. We could not find any of those numbers in a TikTok document, and several of the agency guides quoting 60 days say themselves that they could not confirm it either.

What you should do instead: when you make the request to leave, read and screenshot whatever your own Creator Network Center tells you. That is the figure that applies to your account, and it beats any number you read online.

Separately, the 15 day and 30 day figures you see are usually contract terms set by individual networks, not platform rules. Which is exactly why you should ask any network for its exit terms in writing before you accept an invitation. At The Launchpad there is no contract and no notice period, so there is nothing to negotiate, but you should still ask every network you talk to.

What changes after you join, and what does not

The network gets analytics, not access. Through Backstage, a network can see its own creators’ diamonds, active LIVE hours, stream schedules, engagement data and campaign participation. That is a dashboard over TikTok’s system. It is not a login to your account.

TikTok’s rules reinforce this. Networks are prohibited from sharing, leasing or reselling platform permissions, from disclosing or trading creator information without consent, and are required to treat the creators they manage honestly and fairly and to protect their personal information.

Your money still comes from TikTok, to you. Diamonds land in your own rewards balance and you withdraw them yourself. TikTok pays networks separately, through its own bonus programs, based on how their creators perform. That is the whole economic model, and we break it down in detail in what a TikTok LIVE creator network actually is.

You keep your content and your schedule. A network cannot stream for you, cannot undo a Community Guidelines violation, and cannot guarantee you diamonds, income or views. Any network promising guaranteed numbers is promising something TikTok does not let it control.

Expectations are set by the network, not by TikTok. Many networks ask for a minimum number of streaming hours per month. We found published figures ranging from 15 hours up to 60 hours. None of these come from TikTok. TikTok’s Creator Network Management Policy contains no streaming hour quota for creators at all. If a network tells you TikTok requires a certain number of hours, that is their rule wearing TikTok’s name.

What about stream keys?

A stream key is an RTMP credential that lets you push a feed to TikTok from software like OBS or Streamlabs, instead of streaming from your phone. PC streamers want one for scenes, capture cards and console setups.

Desktop encoder access is a separate permission from mobile LIVE access. Having the LIVE button on your phone does not mean you have a stream key. In practice a creator network is the most reliable route to encoder access, because an approved network can request it on behalf of its creators.

Whether a network is the only route is genuinely disputed. Some sources say TikTok also grants it directly as accounts grow. TikTok publishes no criteria either way. And TikTok LIVE Studio needs no stream key at all. Treat anyone who insists a key is available exclusively through them, especially if they are selling you something, with some caution. Never buy a stream key from a third party, and never use one you found online.

Common questions

Do I apply to an agency or do they invite me?

Technically they invite you. In practice most networks have an application form so they know you are interested, then they send the formal invitation through TikTok once you give them your invitation code. The TikTok side is always invitation based.

How long does it take to join a TikTok LIVE agency?

The TikTok step is immediate once you accept. The slow part is the network reviewing your account first, which varies from under a day to about a week.

Can I join a TikTok LIVE agency with no followers?

TikTok applies follower and diamond thresholds for network membership but does not publish the numbers. Some networks accept creators who are just starting out, others set their own floor. The practical test is whether you can already go LIVE on your own account.

Does joining a TikTok LIVE agency hurt my reach?

We found no evidence either way. TikTok does not document any effect of network membership on distribution, and we are not aware of any study showing one. It is a widely held belief without a documented basis.

Can I be in two TikTok LIVE agencies at once?

No. TikTok’s rule is one creator, one account, one network. Using a second account to get around it is a named violation with published penalties for both you and the networks involved.

Does it cost anything to join a TikTok LIVE agency?

It should not. TikTok pays networks directly through its own bonus programs, and an approved network has to hold its own corporate bank account as a condition of being onboarded. A network asking you for money is asking you to fund something TikTok already pays it for.

Where our information comes from

The rules described here come from TikTok’s own published documents for creator networks, principally the Creator Network Management Policy (last updated August 2025), the Multi-Account Violation Policy, and TikTok’s LIVE Agency Onboarding Criteria for the US. Where something is not in TikTok’s documentation, we have said so rather than filling the gap with a confident guess.

The Launchpad is a TikTok LIVE creator network based in Fort Wayne, Indiana. Joining is free, there is no contract, and we take 0% of your gift earnings. If you want us to check your eligibility and show you the monthly goal TikTok has set for your account, you can apply here.
